“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV

John 16:33 always encourages me because we can know that God has already gone before us and won the war between him and Satan. Therefore, we do not have to worry, because as Christians, we stand with God, the winner of the war. God is more powerful that all of our struggles.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20

It is ok to rest sometimes. Even God rested on the seventh day after creating the world. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 reminds us that we need to honor God with our bodies. There are many ways of interpreting this verse, but I like to think of it as giving our bodies rest and keeping modesty.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139:14

We, humans, are beautiful creatures, because we are made in God’s image. No matter what insecurity you are feeling, know that you are beautiful and made whole with God’s love.
